As the surprising addition to the day, Icelandic singer-songwriter Svavar Knutur tinkered away with magical ballads that were sad and slow. He assured the crowd that his days of writing sad songs were regretfully, behind him, as he’s found himself writing exclusively happy songs. With a heavy dose of in-between conversation about his songs and his affection for the crowd, he admitted in his charming Icelandic accent, “I want to have babies with all of you”. He was a plain delight to listen to, both for this troubadour stories and his invitation to sing-along. We learned a few lines in his native tongue, but no one knows for sure what he had us singing.
