Toronto’s Ruby Coast wrapped up Live in Bellwoods as the final act, with their foot-stomping, guitar driven indie pop. With an impressive seven members tapping and jangling in unison, complete with horns, keyboards, tambourines and guitars. They sang about teenage narratives, admittedly nervous as it was their first time performing in an acoustic environment. The vocals were raw, yelling, and sing-talking like their contemporaries, Tokyo Police Club. Barely out of high school, it looks as though they’re en route to a budding musical career, paving their own way as young indie pop darlings, singing, “what’s best for you could simply be the worst for me”.
