The final day of Live in Bellwoods NXNE kicked off with Olympic Island, a two-piece from Toronto that played minimalistic love songs. The beautiful two-part harmonies and rusty guitars sounded a little like Fanfarlo, with echoey voice cracks that were uniquely their own. They studied each other’s guitars leaning in with the rhythm of the songs, half-nervous about the growing crowd that began to congregate for the day.
